$105,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr

amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, is seeking a Creative Director.


amfAR is dedicated to ending the global AIDS epidemic through innovative research. With the freedom and flexibility to respond quickly to emerging areas of scientific promise, amfAR plays a catalytic role in accelerating the pace of HIV/AIDS research and achieving real breakthroughs. amfAR funded research has increased our understanding of HIV and has helped lay the groundwork for major advances in the study and treatment of HIV/AIDS. Since 1985, amfAR has invested close to $635 million in its programs and has awarded grants to more than 3,800 research teams worldwide.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, is looking for a Creative Director to lead creative ideation, concepting, and art/copy direction. The Creative Director is responsible for the design and production of all amfAR web/digital, social, video, publication and printed materials.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Demonstrate leadership qualities as evident by the ability to collaborate with leadership partners, motivate teams, inspire/facilitate original thinking

·        Develop and deliver creative concepts and ideas, programmed for various platforms and audiences

·        Contribute innovative ideas and tactics appropriate to amfAR marketing and communications strategies

·        Deliver fresh thinking, innovative creative solutions, and impactful storytelling

·        Exhibit strong content knowledge across all forms of art execution, including photography, GFX, motion, music, and sound and be able to make recommendations

·        Build a culture of creativity, comradery, and accountability, helping to bring out the very best of creatives at all levels

·        Mentor and guide junior talent, helping them develop their skills and advance in their careers

·        Stay abreast of creative trends and collaborate with other teams to recommend new technologies/social media approaches to increase fundraising and raise brand awareness


QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in Fine Arts, Advertising, or other creative concentrations

·        Exemplary creative portfolio that highlights experience

·        7+ Years of creative in-house or agency experience

·        3+ years of supervisory experience

·        Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills

·        Experience in health, medical, research or healthcare branding is preferred but not required
