Description: Our client is currently seeking a Crane and Rigging Craft Manager

Summary
This position is responsible for leading, training and developing a crew of up to (60) skilled Crane and Rigging personnel and up to (6) Leads assigned to them in support of ship repair and maintenance of US Navy, USCG, commercial ships and special projects. The Craft Manager is responsible for Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Cost performance objectives that ensure positive predictable results. They will work with the Project Manager and/or Project Coordinator as well as the other trades to deconflict work and maintain schedule. They will support/attend project meetings as required.
Responsibilities
Works closely with the Project Manager(s) to ensure timely and cost-efficient completion of projects and/or jobs.
Plans, manages, executes projects involving in trade with department personnel and customers.
Establishes safe working environment and enforces established safety policies as outlined by company policy OSHA, NAVFAC, state and federal laws, and EPA.
Estimates, calculates, and forecasts labor costs and manpower needs for projects.
Communicates with internal and external customers, contractors, and subcontractors to build and maintain solid relationships.
Oversee the operations of the department including work performed and employees within the department.
Estimates time, manpower, and materials required for assigned jobs.
Assesses team member skills and provide necessary training opportunities as required to enhance or address deficiencies.
Handle various administrative duties such as report writing, performance reviews, responding to email, interviews candidates, and form completion.
Demonstrates leadership skills that align with the mission, vision, and values of the Company.
Qualifications & Requirements
Qualified candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
(5) years of trade experience in a ship repair environment
(3) years of management experience.
Preference is given to those with experience as a rigging and or crane supervisor in a ship repair or shipbuilding environment.
Trade school, associate degree or bachelor’s degree is a plus.
Experience with systems such as EVMS, Baan, or a Time and Attendance Timekeeping software is a plus
NCCCO Lift director for mobile cranes is a plus.
NCCCO or NCCER active crane operator license is a plus
Understand all functions related to cranes and rigging in a shipyard environment
Fill out and present critical lift documents
Read and understand load charts from any form of lifting equipment from fork trucks and telehandlers to cranes from any make model and size or configuration.
Possess or be prepared to obtain level 1 and level 2 rigging certifications
Read, understand, and implement NAVFAC P-307
Understand NAVSEA Standard Items and Mayport Naval Station Local Standard Items.
Be Proficient with Word and Excel.
Have a working knowledge of the Lock Out Tag Out shipboard process
Tag-out User Manual (TUM) and Work Authorization Forms (WAF) process.
Must show proof of your legal right to work in the United States and US Citizenship due to security clearance required for base access.
Must be able to successfully obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to Navy Base.
