Cost Engineer

MDLE seeks a Cost Engineer to join our team. Applicants should have relevant experience for this position. REQUIREMENT- Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screening.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the timely and complete development of building cost estimates.
• Validate material takeoffs and construction quantities from drawings and/or Revit models.
• Participate in bid opening and negotiation meetings
• Prepare, evaluate, and review engineering estimates
• Develop cost estimates for projects from feasibility to construction; recommend consideration of changes in design which may result in greater economy through substitution of materials or simplification of construction
• Prepare detailed cost analysis
• Maintain files of current material prices and construction equipment costs obtained from quotations by suppliers
  
  

Education & Experience Requirement:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field
• 5 years of experience on large complex multimillion dollar federal construction projects, preferably Department of Defense
• Experience with Micro-Computer Automated Cost Estimating System, Second Generation (MII) estimating software for detail estimates and the current version of Parametric Cost Estimating System (PACES) estimating software, preferred
• Certified CCP or CEP or equivalent through organizations such as AACE, ICEC, PCEA preferred
• Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
• Detail-oriented with the ability to efficiently analyze and organize significant information regarding plan layouts, project deliverables, and administrative work.
