MDLE seeks a Cost Engineer to join our team. Applicants should have relevant experience for this position. REQUIREMENT- Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screening.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate the timely and complete development of building cost estimates.
Validate material takeoffs and construction quantities from drawings and/or Revit models.
Participate in bid opening and negotiation meetings
Prepare, evaluate, and review engineering estimates
Develop cost estimates for projects from feasibility to construction; recommend consideration of changes in design which may result in greater economy through substitution of materials or simplification of construction
Prepare detailed cost analysis
Maintain files of current material prices and construction equipment costs obtained from quotations by suppliers
Education & Experience Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field
5 years of experience on large complex multimillion dollar federal construction projects, preferably Department of Defense
Experience with Micro-Computer Automated Cost Estimating System, Second Generation (MII) estimating software for detail estimates and the current version of Parametric Cost Estimating System (PACES) estimating software, preferred
Certified CCP or CEP or equivalent through organizations such as AACE, ICEC, PCEA preferred
Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Detail-oriented with the ability to efficiently analyze and organize significant information regarding plan layouts, project deliverables, and administrative work.
