This is a hybrid position that currently has the minimum expectation to work out of our downtown Seattle headquarters one day per week on Thursdays.
Who we're looking for:
Rover is looking for a Paralegal to join our busy and collaborative legal team working out of our Seattle headquarters. We’re seeking a highly motivated Paralegal with a litigation or regulatory background to make an impact.
The ideal candidate will be resourceful, curious, and passionate about getting things right, while also maintaining flexibility and a sense of humor. We want someone who won’t hesitate to share their perspective and ideas, and is interested in exploring process improvements and new ways of doing things. The position will report to our Director, Corporate Counsel, but will regularly partner with other lawyers and legal professionals on the team, as well as internal business clients.
Your Responsibilities:
Provide support for litigation and regulatory proceedings, including handling discovery, investigating factual and legal questions, reviewing briefing and helping evaluate arguments, and overseeing the issuance of legal holds and related processes
Communicate with outside lawyers to seek guidance, share information, or discuss strategy
Investigate and draft responses to inbound document or information requests from third parties, including civil and criminal subpoenas, data requests from EU and UK public authorities, and regulatory inquiries
Oversee, coordinate, and draft responses to state agency benefits inquiries
Partner with our Trust & Safety team concerning background checks
Assist with other legal projects as needed
Your Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
4+ years of paralegal experience (law firm or in-house)
Impeccable attention to detail
Strong track record of initiative and problem-solving
Solid organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
Excellent interpersonal and internal partner relations skills
Exemplary record of trust, integrity, and confidentiality
Experience working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
Nice to have:
Working knowledge of some or all of the following: insurance, unemployment insurance and workers’ compensation systems, data privacy laws and the Stored Communications Act
Experience or interest in providing testimony in small claims court, regulatory hearings, or similar settings — help us put our best paw forward
Creativity and a passion for back-and-forth brainstorming
An appetite for learning about Rover’s business and digging into details to become a subject matter expert

Compensation:
In the greater Seattle area the first year salary range is $77,001-$99,235. Additionally, Rover offers benefits to full-time employees
The cash compensation offered for this role will be dependent on the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills and abilities as demonstrated in the interview and hiring process
