Job Purpose -

  • The Client's Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) Operations team is seeking a Lead Institutional Investment Operations Specialist within the Tax Operations team. This role involves leading global tax activities, including year-end reporting, withholding, documentation, cost basis, remediation, and strategic initiatives.

Roles And Responsibilities -

  • Lead tax withholding and reporting functions, ensuring accurate processes and approvals by team members.
  • Collaborate with vendors, Broker Dealer Operations, Middle Offices, and other stakeholders for accurate reporting, withholding, and reimbursements.
  • Utilise business intelligence to identify and resolve exceptions throughout the year.
  • Oversee strategic initiatives across technology, process, control, and operational excellence.
  • Work with Corporate Tax and Compliance to analyse complex issues and implement solutions.
  • Support year-end reporting readiness, including trial runs, quality assurance, and finalisation.
  • Advise leadership on complex objectives, processes, industry regulations, and long-term goals.
  • Engage strategically with professionals and managers companywide.
  • Provide vision, direction, and expertise to leadership.

Must-Have Qualifications -

  • 5+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience or equivalent through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Experience with tax withholding and tax reporting functions.
  • Understanding of asset servicing events across equities and fixed income securities.
  • Familiarity with options and swaps.
  • Knowledge of tax solutions such as Broadridge Tax Managed Service, Sovos, Silver Cost Basis, Scivantage Maxit, IHS Markit IPS/CTI.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirement documents and system flows for reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas.
  • Strong organisational, multi-tasking, and prioritising skills.
  • Experience delivering results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record of leading strategic, complex deliverables.
