Job Summary

We are looking for 2 Corporate Information Managers to join the Information and Records Management Service (IRMS).

You will provide professional expertise and hands-on support which enables the effective management of information across the organisation. The roles would suit individuals who enjoy working in a collaborative environment, and possess great digital, communication and organisational skills. Extensive on the job training is provided.

Job Description

On a typical day in this role you might:

  • Deliver a training session, helping colleagues understand how they can manage emails better, dispose of information in line with policy, or protect sensitive information.
  • Lead conversations with stakeholders to propose updates to Parliament’s retention schedule to address gaps or reflect changes in legislation.
  • Attend team meetings to sell the benefits of good information management
  • Meet with colleagues to design and build new SharePoint sites, exploring how these can be set up to meet collaboration and information storage requirements.
  • Visit colleagues across the parliamentary estate to advise on disposal or archiving of legacy hard copy information.


You’ll also be able to explore your professional interests, leading on assigned team workstreams or projects, which might include policy development, communications campaigns, engagement or technical exploration and configuration.

Person specification

What we’re looking for:

  • A sound understanding of information management principles, best practice and legislation, with a good understanding of how digital systems can be configured to manage information.
  • Problem solving skills, with an ability to provide options and recommendations to address a situation using professional judgement and creativity.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and explain issues and justify solutions in a way that is meaningful and persuasive to a range of users.
