Corporate Gifts & Events Manager

Asian Health Services, founded in 1974, provides health, social, and advocacy services for all regardless of income, insurance status, immigration status, language, or culture. JOB SUMMARY:

The Corporate Gifts and Events Manager plans, organizes, and executes event fundraisers; cultivates corporate gifts/sponsorships, is responsible for external corporate and event-related communications & direct mail, gift processing, and volunteer coordination. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Corporate Gifts and Events Manager works with the Director of Development on donor stewardship, media relations, and supporting the capital campaign and other special fundraising campaigns, programs, and donor cultivation events. The manager will recruit, train, and supervise development staff and volunteers, as needed.

Essential Job Functions

  • Event Fundraisers: Develops and executes special events, including the Annual Gala, Golf Charity Tournament, and fitness events; coordinates host donor committees; develops and manages the event budgets, locates and books facilities, food, entertainment, and equipment; solicits donations and participation; plans and organizes ticket sales drives; raffle prizes and silent auctions; manages online event registration and auction pages, platforms and software oversees production of printed materials (invitations, banners, posters, program books, etc); resolve problems and coordinates activities to ensure events run smoothly; oversees promotion and marketing of the event; and conducts post-event evaluations.
  • Corporate Gifts: Work with the Director of Development to develop strategies that attract and maintain corporate sponsorship gifts, including corporate cash and in-kind sponsorships of the annual gala and other AHS events. Will execute all aspects of the plan, including research and identification of prospects; cultivation and relationship management for the portfolio; proposal development and solicitation; and overseeing benefits fulfillment of all sponsorship agreements.
  • Planning and Fiscal Duties: Conducts research to identify new events opportunities for the agency and maintains a calendar to enable effective events planning throughout the year, and long-term planning as may be needed. Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of all fundraising expenses and revenues, providing periodic reports to the executive leaders, committee volunteers and the fiscal department
  • External Communication & Direct Mail: Works directly with Communications Associate, design contractors and print vendors; responsible for the event related external communication and direct mail pieces, including the agency’s website, Facebook page, newsletters, annual report, solicitation letters, email blasts, event invitations, and others
  • Gift Administration: Responsible for pulling gift and registration information from event platforms and oversees the Development Associate’s role in processing and acknowledgment of event related contributions Hands-on knowledge of Raiser’s Edge 7 is preferable
  • Volunteer coordination: (1) Responsible for recruiting and supervising community volunteers for on-going assistance with event planning and execution, mailings, gift entry, etc. (2) Work with the Director of Development, to develop strategies that keep volunteers engaged and ensure volunteer event committee meetings are productive and efficient. 3. Provide staff support for volunteer gala committee, golf committee, fitness committee and Business Leadership Council meeting and activities
  • Media relations: Support the Communication Associate with Media relations on activities related to event promotions
  • Fundraising campaign and initiatives: Supports the Director of Development with Capital Campaigns and other special campaigns and activities




Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of significant event planning experience
  • Hands-on experience in planning and implementing fundraising events independently and in partnership with a committee of volunteers
  • While standard office hours are worked, the major gift officer will also be expected to attend community events, fundraising events for the agency, meet with current and prospective donors in person, and ensure that donors see or continue to see the benefit of giving to the organization
