JOB SUMMARY: As a Corporate Development Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting the strategic growth initiatives of the company. This role involves identifying and evaluating potential business opportunities, leading acquisitions and divestiture strategies, and fostering partnerships to enhance the overall corporate portfolio. You will collaborate with global cross-functional teams and senior leadership as part of your role in executing the organic and inorganic growth strategies of the company.   • Evaluate potential merger, acquisition, divestment, partnership, and joint venture opportunities.
  • Develop and present financial models including historical and projected results along with various valuation methodologies.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence of potential transactions and identify key risks.
  • Work closely with senior management and Business Units to develop M&A strategies.
  • Monitor business trends and gather competitive intelligence to contribute to strategic business planning discussions with leadership.
  • Create presentations and reports which clearly articulate complex financial analysis to various stakeholders including senior management and Board of Directors.
  • Support negotiation of strategic transaction agreements.
  • Support counterparty negotiations and keep external and internal conversations aligned and moving forward.
  • Lead the development of material to support internal governance processes.
  • Support the M&A team on transactions, process development, process management, and market entry plans.
  • Maintain transaction data and support group reporting.
  • Sit first chair (and occasionally second chair) on transactions and run workstreams within transactions.
  • Develop and maintain, with other groups, commercial and competitive intelligence.
  • Establish and nurture key relationships with industry experts, regulatory authorities, and clients in the sector.
  • Provide expertise and insights on market trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements relevant to corporate development projects, incorporating them into the company's strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the successful implementation and execution of initiatives, driving business development activities for market expansion.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance visibility and networking opportunities within the corporate development community.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape, identifying potential challenges and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards in corporate development projects.
  • Assist in managing the company's international business units by coordinating with functional departments - Technical, Operations, Finance, Tax, Legal, and Environmental - to ensure objectives and needs of each group are met by the Business Unit.   • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, science, engineering, or a related field. MBA or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in business development, mergers and acquisitions, or a related role. 2 years of investment banking experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in other languages is advantageous.
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of financial markets.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, including financial modeling and valuation techniques.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and experience in financial statement preparation.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence the decision-making process.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Solid working knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel.
  • Proven flexible team player who works well with others.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
