The corporate controller will lead and direct the accounting functions at the corporate level to support the continued growth of the company. This position directs all analysis and reporting of financial information including financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and required filings and reports. This role provides financial and business advice for daily business operations and strategic plan development.
Essential Functions
Ensures the timely completion of all external audits and reviews.
Support the annual budget process and quarterly projections
Perform cash projections to optimize the utilization of cash.
Ensure the prompt and accurate monthly accounting close. Prepare the consolidated financial statements for corporate operations, including Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet
Manage/reconcile necessary General Ledger accounts in accordance with objectives and regulations
Prepare work papers supporting the annual tax return
Provide financial and operational analysis to management team
Drive effective internal and external communications related to financial goals, status, financial process improvement efforts, etc
Monitor and assess corporate risk and costs
Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results. Investigate and explain book to physical adjustments
Responsible for the integrity of reported results of corporate operations, enforcement of corporate accounting policies, and safeguarding of assets
Supervisory Responsibilities
Effectively lead members of the corporate finance/accounting team by hiring, retaining, coaching and mentoring, disciplining, training, and recognizing top-grade talent.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of U.S GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
Experience in consolidation, purchase accounting and foreign currency is preferred
Efficiently and effectively utilize computerized accounting systems in a network PC environment
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements
Organize, direct, control, and perform bookkeeping and accounting activities
Exercise good business judgement in making daily operating decisions with the long-term best interest of the business in mind
Ability to work independently and solve problems
Ability to anticipate problems and concerns
Ability to conduct general informational research, interview, and gather information
Ability to compose business reports and complex financial statements
Ability to deal effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people and situations, both pleasant and unpleasant

Education, Training, Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent related education and experience required
Minimum of six to eight years of related accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Thorough understanding of and practical experience in coast accounting
Certified Public Accountant license is preferred
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Long periods of sitting and working at a computer are required, with rare exposure to the factory. Sedentary work is performed in an office with little to no exposure to extreme weather or hazardous conditions. Typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop, and phone are used. May be noisy due to proximity to factory. This position may require rare exposure to the factory, which includes extreme weather conditions; noisy, dusty, and dirty environments; and motorized equipment that pose potential safety hazards. Reaching above shoulder height and below the waist, as well as lifting up to 30 lbs. is occasionally required. Proper safety procedures, lifting techniques, and personal protective equipment guidelines are always to be followed.
