Corporate Controller
Korn Ferry has exclusively partnered with a $500M industry-leading services business to bring a Corporate Controller onto their team. Located in Northwest Dallas, they have a 50+ year track record of success, and with recent private equity investment, plan to expand their footprint in the US through strategic acquisitions.
In this role, you will report to and work closely with the CFO to drive company-wide financial initiatives, overseeing all accounting activities.
You will also be an integral player in the company's growth, presenting to PE sponsors and assisting with valuation and opportunity analysis for future acquisitions, and represent that accounting team on all strategic decisions.
The Controller will collaborate with Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Operations to provide insights into business performance and develop strategies to drive company growth.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead a team of 5 and oversee all accounting activity
- Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements.
- Work with various departments within the company such as sales, finance, operations, and marketing to analyze performance using financial tools and prepare KPI’s.
- Identify and perform analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and prepare reports of analyses.
- Actively participate in the month end close process and conduct financial reviews.
- Apply GAAP to analyze and record financial transactions and balances for areas responsible, e.g. review Business Unit expenditures, job costing analysis, purchasing card expenses, inventory adjustments, etc.
- Manage the sites inventory levels and processes, maintain accurate financial records of inventory balances, and record inventory adjustments as needed.
- Prepare, analyze, and support initiatives related to sales growth and customer profitability.
- Identify, lead, and prepare conclusions regarding cost savings and efficiency initiatives.
- Drive actions and influence team members to take appropriate steps resulting from analysis conclusions.
- Work on cross functional teams to ensure adequate processes and procedures are in place to allow for accurate reporting of KPIs and financial results.
Key Requirements:
- Work Experience: 9+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
- PE Experience: Must have prior experience working within a private equity firm or portfolio company
- Systems: Advanced Excell skills, and ERP integration experience is preferred
- Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting. Master's preferred
- Certifications: CPA highly preferred
