What you will do:

The Corporate Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting development and execution of corporate communications plans and strategies that build and protect the reputation of TCCA.

Responsibilities include developing communications materials, project managing communications projects, writing messages and leading Tillamook’s LinkedIn presence. The position reports to the Corporate Communications Manager – External and works cross-functionally with teams across the company.

Here’s a day in the life:

  • Write communications messages: Develop messages tailored for audiences, for example this role will write PR materials, talking points for spokespeople, content for Tillamook’s website and other owned channels. This role will also support our consumer relations team by writing and reviewing consumer response for corporate topics.
  • Project management: Lead project management of various communications projects, which includes cross-functional collaboration with subject matter experts, story mining, working with external vendors, and executing projects to meet deadlines. For example, this role will lead the project management of TCCA’s annual Stewardship Report.
  • Manage TCCA’s LinkedIn presence: Oversee content strategy and editorial calendar, content production, community management, reporting, and learning and innovation. Additionally, this position will support TCCA’s executives, leaders and employees with their LinkedIn presence.
  • Storytelling & content creation: Support ongoing storytelling projects around our business and impact. This may include contributing to earned media efforts, working with our brand marketing team to create content for TCCA’s owned channels, sourcing visuals and staffing photo/video shoots, producing PowerPoints, and synthesizing information tailored for key audiences.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with departments across the business to understand, develop and deploy messages and communications programs.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication or related field.
  • 5 years of professional experience in corporate communications or similar field, including demonstrated experience executing a variety of communications programs and producing communication materials.
  • Demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including listening skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent project management skills.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of conflict resolution best practices and keen ability to creatively problem-solve.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking.
  • Ability to develop rapport and credibility with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Overall comfort with computer systems is a must. Advanced skills in Microsoft programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Layout, design and editing skills using Adobe Creative software (particularly InDesign) are a plus.

Working conditions:

Office: Individual workspace, desk and computer. Generally quiet, temperature controlled, and well lighted. Requires sitting majority of shift; can include standing and walking to accomplish tasks. May require stooping, bending and crouching to file, retrieve supplies. Occasional lifting of 25 pounds. Travel approximately 5-10%, valid driver’s license required.
