Job Summary

As part of our executive team, this role develops and executes business initiatives that drive revenue growth, reduce costs, and improve efficiency. Acting as an internal consultant, the role involves working on projects across various departments including Refining, Supply & Marketing, Trading, Terminals & Pipelines, and Specialty Products. The position also evaluates new business opportunities and collaborates on energy transition projects.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with third parties.

Market and Regulatory Research: Stay informed on market trends and regulatory issues.

Financial Analysis: Build financial models, conduct sensitivity analysis, and negotiate contracts.

Technology and Growth Opportunities: Lead the evaluation of new technologies and commercial growth prospects.

Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with business development and project planning teams.

Business Valuation: Evaluate companies, businesses, and assets.

Consultant Management: Oversee engagements with outside consultants.

Process Management: Manage cross-functional processes like due diligence and benchmarking.

Senior Executive Communication: Facilitate decision-making by communicating with senior executives.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.

Experience: At least 8 years of relevant experience.

Skills: Demonstrated skills in refinery processes, new business development, market research, financial modeling, business valuation, and project/team management.

Job Duties

Leadership: Identify and develop new business opportunities.

Economic Analysis: Develop feasibility level economics.

Project Management: Champion opportunities from inception to completion, working closely with the CFO and internal stakeholders.

Benchmarking: Lead the refinery benchmarking process, analyze results, and develop action plans.

Consulting: Act as an internal consultant providing oversight and expert assistance in business analysis.

Monitoring: Continuously monitor developments in the downstream value chain for new opportunities and risks.

Entrepreneurial Mindset: Identify and recommend unconventional business opportunities and advocate them to senior staff.
