Corporate Accounting Manager

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and assists in the preparation and review of service company and corporate holdings level financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Responsible for a full understanding of all financial statements and primary associate to answer questions on those statements.
  • Review monthly reconciliations and workbooks prepared by senior and staff accountants.
  • Assists Controller with consolidated financials, footnotes, and other schedules needed for reporting packages. Assists with analyzing new GAAP rules and assessing their impact on the organization. Assists with writing new policies and procedures regarding new GAAP rules.
  • Oversees daily activities of the corporate accounting department.
  • Assists with the development of employees in the department.
  • Coordinates the preparation of non-routine accounting transactions or reporting functions.
  • Leads the development of associates in the department which includes day-to-day mentoring and teaching the team.
  • Process Improvement & Policy Development Maintains, evaluates, and suggests additional enhancements to current policies around accounting processes.
  • Assists with writing new policies and procedures regarding new GAAP rules.

Requirements

  • Accounting degree required with applicable 6-8 years of experience.
  • CPA Certification strongly preferred. Big 4 experience strongly preferred along with real estate industry knowledge.
  • Good Excel and computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in the field of financial reporting. Demonstrated leadership ability through managerial experience.
  • Strong GAAP knowledge, analytical, and time management skills.

This is a hybrid role that will work 3 days a week in the office and two from home. The base comp is targeted in the 140-165k range with a competitive bonus structure.
