In this role, the Manager of Accounting is responsible for the accounting operations of the company, to include the productions of financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Included in the preparation of such statements the recording of all appropriate elimination entries to ensure compliance with US GAAP rules and regulations and the integrity of the accounting information.

Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations
Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
Issue timely and complete financial statements
Coordinate the preparation of annual reports
Participate in the production of the annual budget and forecasts
Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
Provide for a system of management cost reports
Provide financial analyses as needed
Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit and bank audits
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Monitor customer profitability and provide guidance on correcting/resolving unprofitable accounts
Prepare error-free monthly financial statements by the 7th work day of each month
Assist, facilitate and complete monthly close procedures, including the monthly closing of intercompany accounts and the consolidation of selected companies
Prepare supporting analytical schedules for month-end package
Review prepared journal entries, including consolidation and elimination entries; Perform month end system closing and generation of month-end reports, including consolidated financials
Review reconciles on balance sheet accounts monthly and review for adequacy of accruals
Perform detailed analysis of revenue and related credit card processing
Reporting to various government agencies as needed
Take a lead role in year-end audits; prepare audit schedules as required
Support Company budgeting and forecasting functions as needed
Streamlining, improving and implementing procedures in various accounting areas, e.g. AR, AP, Invoicing, Fixed Assets, Purchase Orders, etc., as necessary
Analyze financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances
Document accounting policies and procedures
Work closely with various departments to gather and analyze data used for the preparation of journal entries, as well as, assist in establishing and documenting processes around the internal controls surrounding the tasks performed, as well as, attend various meetings and document recaps of items discussed
Establish and improve process flow to enhance work efficiency
Assist the Corporate Controller as needed.

Required Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university required
4+ years of related experience in general accounting
Warehousing/ Logistics experience preferred, but not required
Excellent Excel skills and Netsuite experience preferred
Knowledge of GAAP
Excellent in interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Must be detailed oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
Must be able to work effectively with minimal oversight, while also functioning in a team environment
Computer literacy with MS Office Suite is essential
