Roar Media has an exciting career position for a passionate, knowledgeable and experienced copywriter to lead client copywriting projects. The ideal candidate will have 8+ plus years’ copywriting experience preferably within a variety of industries, such as consumer goods, travel and leisure, technology and professional services (i.e. real estate, financial services, etc.). He or she will be able to become a valuable member of our agency and “hit the ground running” to manage multifaceted, complex copywriting engagements.

Activities and Deliverables:


Copywriting Services:


  • Translate marketing objectives and a brand’s core identity into captivating campaigns and engaging copy using wit, heart, and humor along with the power of the words to drive audiences to action.
  • Research, benchmark, listen and lean in to best understand the client’s identity, industry, product services, competitive advantages, unique value propositions and unique selling points to inform copy deliverables.
  • Research, draft and edit messaging and positioning, ad copy (including paid search), social media content, website copy, brochures and collateral, , email copy, SEO metadata, news releases, etc.
  • Provide copy editing and quality assurance services for grammar, syntax, tone and style
  • Create compelling and branded social media content by conceptualizing concepts, writing engaging copy, working with and guiding designers to bring content to life in the form of static and interactive art cards, stories, social ads, video vignettes, boomerangs, etc.
  • Interview, record and take notes from key stakeholders to obtain content ideas.


General and Account Services:



  • Provide client services focused on working with clients to capture and define copy/content project parameter, planning and forecasting, presenting copy solutions
  • Collaborate with the account, creative, social and digital teams to provide them with client insight and feedback, campaign concepts, specifications and specs
  • Attend client meetings and/or conference and to take the lead in terms of capturing client input and feedback via detailed note taking to inform copywriting projects
  • Research, develop, implement and manage client copywriting projects
  • Attend current and prospective client meetings, as well as prepare for meetings by developing agendas, taking meeting notes and preparing meetings recaps
  • Stay abreast of developments and trends occurring in the earned, owned and paid media spaces and digital, social, PR and creative disciplines
  • Maintain clear and consistent communications and facilitate cross-divisional communication between all departments (account, creative, digital, social, PR, etc.)
  • Travel to in-person client meetings when needed


Qualifications:


  • oven professional and creative copywriting experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is a requisite, including writing, proofreading, grammar and syntax (Spanish-language is also plus)
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and also independently, without supervision
  • Demonstrated client services and project management skills
  • Client-service minded and ability to thrive in demanding environments requiring high degree of deadline-driven productivity, attention to detail, commitment, flexibility, communication and initiative


Success in this position will require:


  • Excellent Language Proficiency: Knowledge of the structure and content of the language including clear meaning of words, rules of composition, and grammar and syntax, in addition to advanced reading comprehension skills.
  • Superior Communication Skills: This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media as well as excellent active listening skills.
  • Marketing Knowledge: Knowledge of marketing and media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods.
  • Sales and Marketing Techniques: Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. Knowledge of marketing strategy and tactics across digital, social and traditional channels.
  • Client services: Ability to provide and knowledge of the principles and processes for providing account management, copy presentation and client services.
  • Strong project management skills: Ability to demonstrate solid organizational and time-management skills, as well as to manage multiple tasks and assignments across various departments and disciplines
