This will be a full-time, in-person position based out of our Manhattan office.

We’re looking for a team player who is eager to work one-on-one with writers and enjoys the challenge of perfecting copy for print. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in publications with a strong understanding of AP Style and the ability to edit with speed and efficiency.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Copy editing long-form articles (500-1200 words) in Adobe InDesign for accuracy, style and consistency
  • Providing feedback to writers on style and structure
  • Self-managing workload to look at sections of different magazines simultaneously as pages become ready
  • Communicating with lead editors to ensure articles are proofed in a timely manner
  • Collaborating with internal teams including other editors and page designers to make necessary changes

Skills Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Publishing or related field
  • Working knowledge of AP Style and the editorial process
  • Prior experience working individually with writers to improve writing flow, syntax and grammar
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing deadlines and ability to multitask
  • Comfortable working with Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Word
  • Familiarity with workload management programs such as monday.com

The salary is $40-45K annually + benefits.

Interested candidates should send a résumé, cover letter, and be prepared to take an edit test.
