Marcus & Millichap is seeking a Copy Editor to join its industry-leading Research Services team in Phoenix. We are looking for a candidate who shares our passion for delivering high-quality, insightful research reports and articles that our clients can use to make better-informed investment decisions.

This role is based in Phoenix, AZ and will be full-time in office.

Responsibilities

• Serve as final gatekeeper by reviewing a variety of research reports to ensure high quality and error-free deliverables across North America
• Copyedit and proofread research materials for clarity, grammar, consistency, accuracy, and tone
• Abridge content to fit within size restrictions
• Proofread and edit charts and graphs
• Recommend edits based on knowledge of target audience, as well as internal conventions and external style guide (AP style)
• Serve as a resource to help coach and guide Research Analysts to improve their writing skills
• Coordinate process flow to ensure all tasks are completed on time
• Develop and maintain department style guides and documentation
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or related field preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent grammar and syntax
• Exceptional attention to detail, process orientation, and organizational skills
• Capability to manage unpredictable workload and meet established deadlines
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to complete projects accurately and on time
• Desire to coordinate production schedules, track deliverables, solve problems and escalate issues where appropriate
• Communicate and collaborate in a team setting
• In-depth knowledge of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and AP style guide
• Proficient in Adobe InDesign, InCopy, Illustrator, and MS Office
• Experience in commercial real estate or business writing/copy editing preferred
