Position Overview

The primary function of this position is to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by taking ownership and providing accurate and timely service, repair, and replacement of all types of cooling tower and related equipment in the commercial/industrial HVAC market. This position may require being accessible for extended hours. Works under minimal supervision. This position must model the company's MISSION, VISION, and CORE VALUES. This position reports to the Cooling Tower Manager.

Basic Tools Required

  • Basic hand tools
  • Hammer/Drift Pin
  • Socket Set 7/16"-1-1/4" Channel Lock Pliers
  • Wrench Set 7/16"-1-1/4" Tape Measure/Level

Responsibilities

  • Reports for duty on time, ready to work, at an assigned work location, on a daily basis.
  • Accurately and timely responds to company processes for receiving and fulfilling service requests.
  • Follows APS's process of submitting reports and data for invoicing daily.
  • Safely and effectively uses tools and equipment wearing proper PPE..
  • Follows direction from management regarding maintaining, servicing, repairing or installing cooling tower and related HVAC equipment.
  • Accurately troubleshoot and diagnoses problems with Cooling tower and related HVAC equipment to determine the best repair and replacement strategy.
  • Works effectively alone and with a team to complete repairs timely and safely with no errors or defects.
  • Communicates clearly with customers and management regarding job status and strategy for repair or requirement of cooling tower and related HVAC equipment.
  • Works safely and effectively with all equipment parts; requests assistance when needed for handling heavy equipment effectively and safely.
  • Accurately and consistently checks work for errors and defects; accurately corrects errors and deficiencies.
  • Maintains technical knowledge of various cooling towers and related HVAC equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly company provided vehicle.
  • Maintains a clean driving record.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work in an indoor office location, outside and on roofs.

  • Normal or corrected sight and hearing ability are required.
  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials on the ground, at heights, and in adverse weather conditions.
  • Handling and Moving Objects – Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials up to 50 pounds, and the manual dexterity to manipulate tools and materials on the ground and at heights.
  • Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment – Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as sky tracks, man-lifts and/or passenger vehicles.

Education / Licensing Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Vocational/ Technical school preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years successful experience in maintaining, servicing, repairing and installing cooling towers and related equipment.
