Controller (Remote)

Harmer is partnering with a client in the Chicagoland area for a *100% Remote* Controller Search.

Position description

As the Controller, you’ll be the lead for financial integrity, accuracy, and scalability of all accounting processes. This position reports directly to the VP of Finance.

Position Responsibilities

• Communicate clearly to financial and non-financial audiences
• Manage all aspects of accounting (cost accounting, billing, financial statements, G/L, payroll, A/P and A/R, budgeting, tax compliance, revenue recognition, and accrual management)
• Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes (GAAP)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Lead the preparation and submission of required tax filings
• Collaborate with finance team to help develop annual budgets and forecasts
• Lead and manage a high-performing accounting team

Experience & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10+ years of related experience
• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, revenue and cost accounting, cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency with accounting software, MS Office Suite and experience with a software system implementation
