Antelope has plans to acquire 5-15 additional all-natural, high-quality brands to become the one-stop shop for pet parents.

OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, Antelope is seeking a Controller to oversee the financial operations of the company, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, compliance with regulatory standards, and effective management of cash flow and working capital. This remote role requires a CPA with extensive experience in accounting and finance, particularly within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry and proficiency in NetSuite. The Controller will manage the monthly close process, implement internal controls, and lead financial reporting. Additionally, the Controller will play a key role in optimizing financial processes, integrating financial systems for mergers and acquisitions, and mentoring the finance team to foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in enhancing operational efficiencies and driving financial performance in a multi-channel distribution environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the monthly close process with the goal of driving material efficiencies in current practices and ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions to ensure liquidity and financial stability
  • Lead a team to develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy
  • Continuously evaluate and identify opportunities for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and process improvements
  • Serve as the primary administrator for Netsuite, ensuring the system meets the needs of the finance department and oversee the integration and optimization of Netsuite with other business systems
    • Utilize advanced functionalities of NetSuite ERP system to streamline financial processes.
    • Optimize reporting capabilities within NetSuite to enhance decision-making.
    • Provide training and support to finance team members on Netsuite functionalities.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including tax, audit, and reporting requirements.
  • Lead accounting system and financial integration of all M&A investments to derive synergies
  • Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and board packages
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure Antelope practices are auditable and the appropriate controls are in place to ensure accuracy and integrity of our financials
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
  • Expert knowledge and experience with NetSuite required
  • Public accounting experience is a plus
  • Experience with omnichannel distribution; inclusive of nuances with major online retailers, bricks and mortar retailers, and distributors
  • Experience in a multi-brand or subsidiary environment a plus
  • Specific focus on complex inventory management, cost accounting, sales promotions and discounts, chargebacks and trade spend
  • Knowledge and experience with acquisition accounting
