Blackbeard Marine, a premier provider of boats and marine services, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our team. This position will play a crucial role in overseeing financial operations and ensuring compliance within our dealership environment.
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, budget forecasts, and variance reports.
Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financial risk.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Coordinate annual audits and tax filings.
Provide strategic financial insights to senior management to support decision-making.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial management role within an auto dealership, boat dealership, Powersports dealership, or RV dealership.
Strong knowledge of dealership accounting practices and familiarity with industry-specific software (e.g., Reynolds and Reynolds, CDK Global, Lighspeed DMS or equivalent).
Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a finance team.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
