What You’ll Do

  • Create a team which is a value center instead of a cost center.
  • Develop modern policies and procedures with an eye toward technology.
  • Look for opportunities to automate and embrace technology.
  • Establish and recommend major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for company.
  • Advise management with important financial decisions.
  • Prepare finance business reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Direct preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
  • Advise management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
  • Provide management with timely reviews of an organization’s financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
  • Direct determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.
  • Advise management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
  • Arrange for audits of company's accounts.
  • Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Supervise employees.
  • Establish external partnerships and vendor relationships.

What We Need

  • 5+ years life and annuity insurance carrier focused experience
  • BA/BS in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management about the finances of the business and justify certain financial recommendations.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Organization and project management skills
  • Small Business Financial Accounting System Knowledge preferred.
  • Tax Controller experience and/or knowledge tax laws and business regulations a plus.
