Controller

Our client is an upstream O&G operator based in far N. Dallas. The owners are high integrity industry veterans who were tired of the big O&G culture and the mistrusting way in which those firms were run and treating clients so they broke off to start their own firm in 2021. They are set up as a fund with a ltd. partnership structure so there is a need for some fund accounting and JIB.

They have had a consulting firm handling the accounting, but are wanting to hire someone in house now as a Controller. This role will by hybrid with a 3 day in 2 day remote strcuture. Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of experience with specific expertise in upstream oil & gas accounting, with a strong understanding of revenue recognition, royalties, and proration methods
• Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis, with advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Experience with financial software systems (OGsys) and microsoft office
• Need an entreprenuers mindset coupled with a get it done attitude and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented mindset, with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of work
  
  

Responsibilities

• As the Controller at our client's company, you will play a critical role in overseeing their financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of their accounting processes
• Reporting directly to owners you will have the opportunity to leverage your expertise in upstream oil & gas accounting to drive strategic decision-making and contribute to the company's overall success
• Manage all aspects of upstream oil & gas accounting, including the calculation and reporting of revenues, JIB parternships, fund accounting, reconciliatoins and closing the books.
• This individual will be someone who loves being invovled in more than just accounting and who wants to bring that value to an org.
• Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
