Annual Salary is $107,000 - $150,000.
About The Position
The Controller plays an important role at the utility by providing managerial oversight and technical expertise for the finance department. The person in this position has a strong understanding of the regulatory environment and financial reporting requirements. The Controller leads or participates in the budget and audit, and oversees the day-to-day finance functions. This position often interacts with other departments that rely on this position for leadership and support. Communication skills are essential.
The Finance Department consists of 4.5 FTE: Finance Director, Controller, Senior Accountant, Accountant, and A/P Clerk (½ FTE).

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, or 3+ years of accounting experience with a CPA.
An equivalent combination of experience and education may be qualifying.
Special Requirements
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
Ability to perform complex financial accounting analyses.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certification such as Certified Public Account (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
Previous supervisory experience.
Understanding of the electric utility industry and regulatory environment is a plus.
