Why Is This Role So Special?

The Controller has ultimate responsibility for all accounting, treasury and payroll activities within the organization. Your role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic insights to support the company's growth. You will collaborate with our executive team to establish financial benchmarks, manage budgets, and drive process improvements.

You will be a member of the company’s senior leadership team, helping to determine company-wide strategy and priorities. Along with key internal access and learnings from our equity partner.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee and manage Treasury, Investment Management, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable/Billing, and Payroll functions.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to set financial and operational benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards.
  • Provide accurate tax-related information to professional tax accountants for the preparation of company and shareholder tax returns.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses and present findings to executive leadership for strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain internal control safeguards for revenue receipt, costs, budgets, and actual expenditures.
  • Review financial details from past, present, and forecasted operations to identify opportunities and improvements.
  • Provide management with short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
  • Conduct financial analysis with a focus on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations while assessing potential risks.
  • Oversee timely and complete monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes; prepare financial statements and filings in compliance with GAAP.
  • Coordinate external audits, working closely with auditors to develop efficient audit plans and resolve issues promptly.
  • Focus on automating accounting processes and continuous process improvement to ensure scalability.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Skills Needed

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships; proven leadership skills and management experience with an ability to recruit, develop, inspire and retain a high performing organization, and effectively deal with various personalities.
  • Strong sense of urgency and commitment, as well as a strong business sense with a strategic, conceptual, and operational orientation.
  • Strong skill sets in the areas of presentation, facilitation, consultative, written and verbal communications.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (financial closure, reporting, internal controls, budgeting, etc.)
  • Experience in growing private-equity owned company environment is a plus

Experience And Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting related field.
  • Able to work in our Tampa, FL office, Monday-Friday
  • Six or more years of experience in progressively responsible financial roles.
  • Preferred: Relevant experience in a SAAS company.
  • Preferred: Master's degree and/or Public Accounting experience, CPA.
