I am working with a fast-growing professional services firm. They are looking to hire a Director of Finance/Corporate Controller to oversee all the accounting/finance of the company.

Their main office is located in NYC with a hybrid work schedule.

Managing the accounting team and overseeing financial processes effectively requires a strategic approach and attention to detail. Here's a comprehensive plan to address the responsibilities outlined:

Lead and Manage the Accounting Team

• Define roles, responsibilities, and goals for team members.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback for professional growth.

Ensure Accuracy of General Ledger

• Implement rigorous controls and review procedures for general ledger entries.
• Monitor and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Address discrepancies promptly and conduct regular audits.

Manage AP and AR Processes

• Streamline AP and AR workflows to optimize efficiency.
• Monitor cash flow and manage collections to improve AR turnover.
• Ensure timely payment to vendors and accurate invoicing to customers.

Oversee Treasury and Liquidity Management

• Monitor cash balances and cash flow projections.
• Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
• Implement strategies to optimize liquidity while minimizing risk.

Partner with 3rd Party Providers for Tax and Audit

• Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals.
• Ensure timely completion of audits and tax filings.
• Provide necessary documentation and support during audit and tax processes.

Must have 13-20 years as Controller or Finance Director of a service, CPA firm or law firm.
