Control Room Supervisor

The Control Room Supervisor will oversee operations at a cement distribution plant. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance, supervision, SCADA systems, control systems, and site safety protocols. This role will be responsible for ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe plant operations, maintaining equipment, assisting drivers during the loading process, coordinating with the preventative maintenance team, troubleshooting the PSCL system, developing SOPs, and conducting toolbox meetings.


KEY Responsibilities


1. Supervision and Management:

  • Oversee daily operations of the cement distribution plant.
  • Supervise and lead a team of operators, technicians, and maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure that all employees follow safety protocols and operational procedures.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities.
  • Team scheduling
  • Understanding KPI’s
  • Assist in creating small job scopes for the site.
  • Filling up log sheets in detail, excel sheets and updating critical information on WhatsApp group.


2. Mechanical Maintenance:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, ensuring timely and effective repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Coordinate with the preventative maintenance team to ensure regular upkeep of equipment.


3. SCADA and Control Systems:

  • Monitor and manage the plant’s SCADA systems to ensure efficient and continuous operation.
  • Analyze data from SCADA systems to identify potential issues and optimize plant performance.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of control systems for the plant’s machinery and processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the PSCL system.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to implement system upgrades and improvements.


4. Safety and Compliance:

  • Promote and enforce a culture of safety within the plant.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, identifying and addressing potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Lead safety training programs and emergency response drills.
  • Conduct regular toolbox meetings to address safety concerns and update employees on new protocols.


5. Operational Efficiency:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Develop and update SOPs to ensure consistent and efficient plant operations.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Assist drivers during the loading process to ensure timely and accurate dispatch of cement products.
  • Identifying and working on continuous improvement projects.


REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES


  • Degree in related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Strong proficiency with SCADA system and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Proven supervisory experience
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Office environment with occasional need for travel to supplier or customer locations.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations and tight deadlines.
