Contract Manager
Our client is a large organization in the healthcare space that is building out its team to undergo a tech transformation. They pride themselves on fostering an environment where their employees’ voices are always heard, and they are constantly being challenged. They are looking for a Contracts Manager who will play a vital role in ensuring the successful execution and management of contracts within the procurement process. This is an onsite position based in Stamford, CT.
Contracts Manager’s Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead negotiations with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions that align with the organization’s goals and reduce risks. Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and other contract elements.
- Develop comprehensive and legally sound contracts, agreements, and amendments tailored to the specific needs of each procurement project. Ensure clarity, accuracy, and completeness in all contractual documents.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of contracts, from initiation to expiration or renewal. Monitor contract performance, track key milestones, and ensure all parties adhere to their contractual obligations.
- Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within contracts and develop effective strategies to mitigate them. Proactively address compliance, legal requirements, intellectual property rights, and other contractual issues.
Contracts Manager’s Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Legal Studies, or related field. Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPCM) is a plus.
- Proven experience in contract management, procurement, or related roles, preferably in a corporate or government setting.
- Strong understanding of contract law, negotiation techniques, and procurement processes.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex contractual issues and develop practical solutions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
