WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
- Ensure the manufacturing plants are implementing the appropriate Lean Tools (VSM, Lean Daily Management, Standard Work, Pull Systems, SMED, Variation Reduction) to maximize productivity and throughput while minimizing lead time and WIP.
- Ensure the manufacturing plants are implementing the appropriate Lean Tools (VSM, Lean Daily Management, Transactional Process Improvement) to maximize productivity in the front and back office areas.
- Participate in the development of the operating unit’s Strategy Deployment goals and objectives and align the continuous improvement plan in support of these SDP Objectives.
- Identify and implement best-in-class lean processes and infrastructure suitable to the scope and size the of the operating unit.
- Participate when required in the Due Diligence process for new acquisition in terms of operational effectiveness.
- Ensure that a depth of high-quality manufacturing talent exists throughout the company.
- Assist in selecting, developing, leading, and coaching the team with the goal of meeting/exceeding targeted goals.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience required in a low volume, high mix, multi-facility manufacturing environment with direct exposure to and use of lean tools.
- Demonstrated business acumen and a basic understanding of the P&L and Balance Sheet.
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and familiarity with a variety of TPS/Lean tools including but not limited to:
- VSM, Standard Work, Pull Systems and Kanban, SIOP, Lean Daily Management, Problem Solving, 5S, 3P, SMED, TPM, Transactional Process Improvement, and Variation Reductio
