About The Role
Mainshares is looking for a talented and passionate Content Writer to help us educate entrepreneurs and investors on SMB transactions. In this role, your primary focus is on creating educational and captivating content for small business entrepreneurs, investors and partners.
Most of our customers are buying a business, raising equity and investing into SMBs for the first the time. Providing clear, thoughtful educational resources is critical to lowering the barriers, increasing success rates and creating more successful SMB owners.
This role is critical to our success as a company. A breakout candidate will become an internal domain expert and ultimately own more of the content stack, including webinars, creative production and more.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with product and operations to develop a content roadmap that aligns with business needs and requests from our community.
Generate compelling content for educational resources, blog posts, case studies, courses and newsletters.
Conduct research to gather relevant information about the market, trends and best practices from lenders, investors, successful operators, and other community members.
Become an expert on SMB acquisitions along with the equity and debt financing components to those deals.
Work with design and engineering to ensure visual and textual elements compliment each other.
Requirements
B.S. in Finance, Economics, English or a related field.
1-2 years of professional writing experience, preferably in the finance/investment sector.
Strong understanding of financial concepts (e.g., capital markets, investment structures, etc).
Comfort with Excel and interpreting financial models.
Past experience doing first-party research, surveys, and data analysis to drive insights.
Nice-to-Have
Previous exposure to SMB acquisitions.
You have started and managed your own newsletter on a specific topic.
Past responsibility for managing visual content creation to compliment your work.
Experience with email marketing platforms like Customer.io and CMS tools like Contentful.
