Content Protection Manager II

We are looking for a Content Protection Manager based in LA to join our global team. The Content Protection team at Spotify is responsible for managing the operations of our intellectual property policies on our content catalog; our goal is to ensure that the consumer experience is free from infringing content and that the properties of our content providers are respected. The team collaborates cross-functionally with Product, Tech, Legal, Trust & Safety, Customer/Creator Support, and other teams to develop effective and scalable solutions. The focus of this role will be to expand our global coverage, while contributing to the team’s core responsibilities. We currently have Content Protection Managers sitting in Singapore, Mumbai, Dubai, Stockholm, New York, and Austin.

What You'll Do

  • Review & process a variety of complex incoming infringement claims efficiently, including management of take-down processes.
  • Troubleshoot infringement-related issues and assess findings with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Support various Legal and Licensing teams with case research and information gathering.
  • Liaise with our rights holders, claimants, content providers, and internal teams.
  • Assess and understand the impact of implementing new operational processes.
  • Collaborate closely with our support teams and their agents to drive operational excellence.
  • Work cross-functionally with a range of teams at Spotify including our Artist & Label teams, PR, Legal, R&D, and the broader Content Operations teams.
  • Support training teams in implementing new workflows.
  • Continuously improve processes, tools, and documentation regarding the handling of infringement claims.
  • Communicate complex technical problems and solutions to non-technical internal and external partners in an understandable way.
  • Participate in a range of complex projects.

Who You Are

  • You are proficient in English.
  • You have experience working in Customer relationship management tools (e.g. Salesforce, Zendesk, etc.)
  • You have a basic understanding of project management tools such as Asana, Trello, Jira, etc.
  • You have years of experience in the music and/or podcast industry and/or have experience working with digital service providers
  • You have a deep understanding of music, podcasts, intellectual property rights, and technology.
  • You have excellent communication and leadership skills, enabling you to independently represent and advocate for the team
  • You are able to meet deadlines and complete tasks efficiently.
  • You are skilled in providing concise summaries for stakeholders.
  • You are motivated to continuously improve work methods.
  • You are adaptable and quick to learn in a changing environment.
  • You are comfortable with asynchronous workflows.
  • You are proficient in analyzing data (proficiency in SQL/BigQuery is a plus).
  • You are resilient and efficient in a faced-paced environment and under tight deadlines.
  • You can follow workflows diligently while remaining flexible in challenging situations.

“The United States base range for this position is $82,981-$118,459, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays.”
