Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) is a flagship hospital in the Northwestern Medicine (NM) system affiliated with Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine located in the heart of downtown Chicago. We serve a broad community in Chicago and across the suburbs and aim to bring the best in medicine including breakthrough treatments and clinical trials to a growing number of patients close to where they live and work.
We are looking for a Clinical Physicist to be involved in day-to-day clinical services in the department of Radiation Oncology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in downtown Chicago. Faculty appointment at Northwestern University Fienberg School of Medicine at appropriate rank (Assistant/Associate Professor) could be provided based on academic strength. The department currently includes 10 medical physicists, 10 dosimetrists; treats 120+ patients a day; and provides extensive external beam treatment (4 Linac’s) with imaging modalities (OBI, CBCT, MRI), including SBRT, SRT, 3DCRT, TBI, TSET, IMRT/VMAT, Gamma Knife, Gamma Tile, Eye plaque, Hyperthermia, LDR (prostate seed) and HDR (Gyn) Brachytherapy as well as a MRIdian ViewRay MR-Linac. We have 9 medical residents and 2 physics residents in the department along with a post-doctoral fellow and a medical physics assistant. Our medical physicists are encouraged to participate in various aspects of clinical research as well as teaching programs including mentoring therapy students and residents (MD and medical physics).
