Job Title: Consulting Actuary (ASA required, or close to obtaining)
Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced individual to join our team as a Consulting Actuary. In this role, you will provide expert actuarial guidance and strategic advice to our clients across various industries. You will leverage your technical expertise and analytical skills to assess risks, develop pricing models, and design innovative solutions that drive business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced individual to join our team as a Consulting Actuary. In this role, you will provide expert actuarial guidance and strategic advice to our clients across various industries. You will leverage your technical expertise and analytical skills to assess risks, develop pricing models, and design innovative solutions that drive business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with clients directly, fostering robust relationships and grasping their specific pension needs and goals
- Analyze client data, market trends, and regulatory mandates meticulously to evaluate risk exposure and assess potential financial implications
- Evaluate annual pension valuations for clients, covering terminations, mergers & acquisitions, compliance, and related aspects.
- Create and manage complex financial models to predict forthcoming liabilities, cash flows, and reserves accurately.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory updates and industry norms, preparing and scrutinizing actuarial reports and filings for regulatory bodies promptly and accurately. Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as ERISA, PPA, ISA, DOL, PBGC, and FAS is essential.
- Perform benefit calculations, and funding valuations, and review the work of colleagues.
- Possessing knowledge of post-retiree medical plans is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Fellow or Associate of the Society of Actuaries (FSA or ASA) designation is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in actuarial consulting or related roles.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with a demonstrated track record of successfully managing client engagements from initiation to completion.
