Blue Owl’s Institutional Business Development (“IBD”) team focuses on serving as a partner of choice to many of the world’s leading institutional investors, including public and corporate pension funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds, and family offices. Our team of business development professionals are immersed in the challenges facing our Institutional partners and are attuned to sourcing opportunities that can help mitigate those challenges and deliver the best possible outcomes.

We are seeking a Vice President of Institutional Business Development to focus on Investment Consultants, driving business growth, building a referral pipeline, and fostering key relationships. This individual will have the autonomy to expand the role and help shape best practices that will continue to establish Blue Owl as an industry leader in business development and client service.

This role is in office Monday to Thursday.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on business development and relationship management of investment consultants to effectively promote our services and expand our client base
  • Establish and maintain meaningful relationships across research, field consultants, and executives at consulting firms
  • Educate investment consultants on firm capabilities and products across asset classes
  • Showcase our expertise and value proposition by hosting events and providing educational resources, etc.
  • Ability to work proactively and independently as a member of a small, flat, cohesive team; a collegial and collaborative mindset is mandatory
  • Work with the broader IBD team to build the pipeline, advance the sales process, and drive new business opportunities
  • Able and willing to travel domestically to meet with clients and attend conferences

Qualifications

  • 6-10 years’ experience in the asset management industry, including specific sales experience working with investment consultants
  • Series 7 & 63 required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of private market assets and products
  • Outstanding attention to detail, with ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting or exceeding deadlines
  • Experience with tracking activity, communication and pipeline management in a CRM, preferably Salesforce.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be $160,000 to $190,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
