Job Summary

This position is responsible for the design, visual merchandising, store maintenance, and development for retail locations in alignment with brand strategic goals; support for in-store events, promotional displays; and new store construction/project management.


MANAGE THE DESIGN & SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT OF MERCHANDISING

  • Participate in strategy meetings for seasonal, new product development and sale updates
  • Provide creative solutions for displays units
  • Create and manage floor plans and support the design development for all updates including open sell fixtures, tester units and custom merchandising display
  • Design retailer specific animations & in store events 
  • Support in development of various budgets and in problem solving to ensure budget targets are met.
  • Provide support for retailer presentations, internal meetings, corporate, etc.


PROJECT MANAGEMENT & NEW STORE CONSTRUCTION

  • Onsite managing of new store construction from before demo to store open date (up to 45 days onsite)
  • Set up store from A-Z including but not limited to inventory, visual merchandising, supply and furniture ordering, etc.
  • Oversee financial budgets, coordinate contractors, and manage the construction process in this position
  • Oversee organizing schedules, tracking inventory, and ordering and managing materials. 
  • Planning and facilitating job functions including kick-off meetings of new store openings, project budgets, project schedules, sub-meetings, owner meetings, miscellaneous design team correspondence, labor, and material.
  • Facilitate tenant packages that include pre-con meetings, permits, 2D & 3D design submittals, etc
  • 90% travel with at least 10 new stores per year


Essential Duties

  • Attend all key meetings regarding product updates and strategic planning.
  • Work with cross functional teams to ensure accuracy of information
  • Manage any vendor design direction
  • Support any open sell display unit development & execution for all updates
  • Develop strategic product placement on open sell display unit launches and/or floor plans
  • Work with Sales team to initiate new open sell display units, assortments and advise on adds and deletes.
  • Partner with Director of Retail to plan updates and oversee the production of display vendors.
  • Communicate design intent, colors, materials and finishes with vendors.
  • Approve Color match samples and materials
  • Provide prompt guidance and feedback to vendors to assure production does not get delayed
  • Review and route engineering drawings and prototypes for approval.
  • Review and route instruction sheets
  • Initiate creative briefs as required.
  • Partner with creative director and graphic designers to enhance visual presentation.
  • Support open sell merchandising issues with sales field team.
  • Develop one-off display units to distort key merchandising programs.
  • Maintain and update the units as required.
  • Prepare presentation renderings for retailer meetings.
  • Update merchandising live deck seasonally 
  • Self-motivated to stay on top of industry trends/newness in retail and luxury experience. 
  • Visit local stores to check updates and execution
  • Attention to detail, ability to execute flawlessly, strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to effectively convey ideas through 2D drawings and 3D renderings. 
  • Evaluate job information to ensure completeness, design intent, and compliance with local codes and obtain all required clarifications from the design team
  • Ensure that quality projects are completed on time & within budget.
  • Monitor Project expenses regularly adjusting as necessary to avoid budget overruns.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with subcontractors and with ownership.
  • Plan, document, execute & manage projects through all phases including close-out.
  • Responsible for the complete closeout of projects from the beginning of the project
  • Ensure production is properly completed by maintaining ongoing contact with production personnel and clients
  • Work directly with client/architect and design team to resolve problems.
  • Ensure that all necessary permits and licenses are acquired before project commencement.
  • Maintain ongoing contact with sales staff and clients to receive feedback regarding all aspects of workflow such as shipment dates, special needs, product updates, feasible improvements, and problems.
  • Apply knowledge of technology and capabilities of the company’s physical plan to best meet company’s needs
  • Run multiple projects simultaneously
  • Review and coordinate shop drawings, submittals, and other activities that allow the various elements of work to correctly fit together
  • Manage the change order process with timely and transparent information to subcontractors, property management, etc. Maintain an up-to-date log and implement appropriate processes.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to determine what went well and areas for improvement.


Qualifications

  • MUST reside in Miami Dade, Broward or Palm Beach Counties (NO relocation package)
  • Min 3 years’ visual merchandising experience in retail or related industry
  • MUST have managed new retail store construction with a minimum 3 years
  • Highly driven, energetic, flexibility and team spirited.
  • Strong presentation skills and able to clearly present ideas to cross functional teams
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Experience as a Project Manager in a relevant setting, ideally 3 years experience in new store construction.
  • An eye for detail and accuracy along with superior communication and organizational skills
  • Able to multi-task and thrive in a challenging, fast-paced environment
  • MUST be able to lift 30 lbs
  • 90% travel with at least 10 new stores per year
