Overview
As a Senior Estimator, you will lead the preparation and coordination of comprehensive estimates for large and complex projects across various construction methods including Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC), Design-Build (DB), and Design-Bid-Build (DBB). This senior-level role requires over 7 years of experience in construction estimating and may involve supervising junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
Independently manage estimation processes from initial site visits and RFP analyses to final proposal submissions.
Analyze project scope, quantities, and cost data, identifying critical factors for project success.
Lead the bidding process, including solicitation, proposal evaluation, and analysis.
Mentor and coach junior estimators; assist in recruitment and training within the department.
Maintain proficiency with estimating software and tools such as cost models, dashboards, and RFI logs.
Stay updated with software advancements and participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities.
Undertake special projects and additional duties as assigned by executive leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architectural Design, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimating.
Proficient in MS Office and advanced estimation software.
Strong understanding of construction methods, contracts, and industry standards.
Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel to construction sites as needed.
