Robert Half is currently hiring for an experienced Construction Estimator Manager to join a growing client in the Wilmington, NC area. This role can be remote and will be responsible for managing project costs, preparing and presenting estimates, managing and tracking multiple preconstruction projects and cost-reduction options. The person in this role will also be a key liaison with contractors, engineers, architects, and stakeholders, ensuring accurate and comprehensive estimate creation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Review pricing of estimates with the proper level of detail, including labor, material, and subcontract items. Communicates any proposed changes accordingly.
Research and review construction and design documents and analyze specifications to determine estimated costs
Critically analyze bid documents and understand risk and opportunities
Collect historical cost data to estimate costs
Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids.
Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and architects during estimate creation in order to ensure overall accuracy and conformity to fulfill all provisions of contract requirements.
Manage and track multiple preconstruction projects at once
Develop cost estimates for change orders and present to management
Recommend and incorporate cost-reduction options for more competitive bids
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5 years of estimator/industry experience in industrial and/or commercial and/or heavy civil construction projects
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
Proficient in MS Office Suite with advanced knowledge of Excel
Ability to read, understand and organize construction plans and specifications
Ability to breakdown construction operations into a logical sequence of activities
