Sr. Construction Engineer (Structural) - Consultant

Doyon Government Group (DGG) provides Design-Build and General Construction Services on demolition, new construction, renovations, repairs, and civil projects at government-owned facilities and military installations.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Engineer (Structural) - Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the quality control processes related to structural systems and components in construction projects. This role requires a thorough understanding of structural engineering principles, construction practices, and quality assurance methods.

*We are open to 1099 independent contractors!

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement quality control procedures for structural systems in construction projects
• Conduct regular inspections and testing of structural components to ensure they meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory codes
• Monitor the quality of structural materials, equipment, and workmanship on construction sites
• Identify opportunities for improving construction methods and practices to enhance quality and efficiency
• Ensure all structural work complies with industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements
• Investigate and resolve quality issues and non-conformances in structural construction
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality concerns
• Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure the quality of structural materials and installations

Qualifications:

MUST qualify as one of the following:

• Graduate Civil Engineer with (Structural focus) + 2 years professional experience ...or
• Construction Manager with a Professional Engineer (PE) registration + 2 years professional experience ...or
• Construction professional with 5 years of experience supervising structural features of work in the field with a construction company

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing up to forty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Occasional travel required.

SALARY & BENEFITS: Salary range for this position is $90,000-$150,000 per year. Exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, education, certifications, and work location.
