Tribute Construction is presently in search of a skilled Construction Accounting Manager. Construction is now in progress on our new headquarters which is located in the Ogden area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the Construction Team to create and regularly update job budgets and schedules.
  • Create and regularly update job cost reports to aid in the analysis of budgets and schedules.
  • Analyze, determine, and document reasons for budget variances.
  • Coordinate and oversee the Subcontractor/Vendor approval process, including verification of W-9’s and proof of insurance.
  • Enter Contracts and Purchase Orders into the accounting system.
  • Reconcile and audit Purchase Orders to receivers and invoices received.
  • Monitor contracts and change orders for compliance with contract terms.
  • Perform monthly analysis/reconciliation of financial statement accounts, as needed.
  • Track contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and invoices to ensure accuracy, as well as timeliness of approvals and payments.
  • Communicate with vendors to get updated/missing documentation necessary to process invoices timely.
  • Process payments for invoices, as needed.
  • Participate in and document staff meetings, as needed.
  • Assist with various projects and tasks as determined by the Executive Director of Construction.
  • Approach all challenges with a positive attitude and possess an aptitude to provide potential solutions to resolve a situation.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when dealing with vendors, subcontractors, trade professionals, coworkers, and the general public.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, Education and Experience:

Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and processes. Ability to communicate ideas effectively in both oral and written forms. General knowledge of accounting internal control practices. Keen attention to detail, efficiency, and deadlines.  Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.  The ability to operate independently with urgency and accuracy.  Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred and 3-5 years of experience in an accounting environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Computer Accounting Software and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to understand construction plans and documents is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

This work requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds; requires the ability to stand, stoop, bend, walk, and sit.

The base compensation rate will vary based on education, experience, skills, and geographic location, as applicable.
