InfraHire is looking for Concrete Estimator in South Elgin, IL

Senior Concrete Estimator Responsibilities

  • Accurately estimate projects from conceptual budgets through construction document phases
  • Provide efficient preparation of bid pre-qualification, bid packages and overall bid correspondence
  • Review customer drawings, identify any areas of concern and provide creative solutions or value engineering if needed
  • Closely monitor industry trends and correspond with suppliers to provide current, accurate and competitive proposals
  • Preform accurate and timely digital take-offs for foundations, slabs and elevated decks
  • Provide specific bid breakdowns listing labor, material, equipment, escalation and supervision
  • Drafting and preparing professional proposals that detail concrete scope, materials, quantities and clarifications
  • Timely follow-up on bids, solicit feedback and maintain communication throughout the bid process
  • Attend pre-bid, preconstruction, safety and quality meetings around the Chicagoland area as required
  • Ensure project meets or exceeds financial objectives by assisting job monitoring and material costs
  • Prepare, execute and monitor project change orders
  • Maintain detailed and organized documentation throughout the project to protect the company's interests
  • Uphold TOR's high standard of safety, quality, service, production and integrity
  • Build and maintain a professional rapport with clients as well as suppliers

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management preferred or related professional experience
  • 5+ Years industry experience with commercial renovations and ground up construction (estimation of multi-story CIP buildings preferred)
  • Proven success and track record of heavy concrete construction projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and digital take-off software (PlanSwift experience preferred but not required)
  • Preferred candidate would be knowledgeable and experienced working within digital management platforms such as Procore or Bluebeam.
  • Must have exceptional leadership, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, written and analytical skills
  • Must have experience with high dollar contract negotiations (over 1 million)
  • A qualified candidate must be willing to provide examples of their estimates and explain their process.
