Minimum Qualifications
Education and Certification Requirements
High school graduate or GED equivalent
A.S. in networking, computers, or equivalent schooling or work experience
CompTIA certification in A+ preferred
Experience installing, terminating, troubleshooting, servicing and maintaining low voltage cable infrastructure systems such as Category 5, Enhanced Category 5 and Category 6
Valid Texas Driver’s License, a good driving record, and proof of insurance on vehicle used to travel in district
Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check
Special Knowledge And Skills
Basic knowledge of computer hardware/peripheral repair and troubleshooting is required
Working knowledge of various communications, video and network test equipment
Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications is required
Basic knowledge of Apple, Android, Chrome and other mobile device operating systems, applications and hardware preferred
Knowledge of networks and client/server applications is preferred
Highly knowledgeable of computer hardware, software applications, computer operating systems, and network operating systems
Knowledge of correct English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Excels in communicating and working with and for people with various backgrounds and cultures
Comprehension of terminology pertaining to installation and service of cabling infrastructure for network systems
Install, splice, dress, terminate, troubleshoot, test, maintain and relocation of structured cabling systems per the Judson Technology and industry standards
Basic understanding of industry standards including BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA, OSHA, local and National Electric Code
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read, understand and explain service orders, blueprints, architectural, mechanical, electrical and other construction documents
Proven skills in reliability and dependability demonstrated through completing tasks on time and with minimal supervision, punctual and present for work. Informing appropriate individuals when work will not be completed in an agreed upon time frame
Highly proficient in keyboarding, computer use, and phone use
A high priority on providing outstanding customer service and turnaround time
Excellent telephone and communication skills
Excellent math and analytical skills
Experience
Minimum of six (6) months’ experience in computer/technology support and repair and one (1) year of networked structured cabling (i.e. CATE 5E, 6, 6a)
Major Responsibilities And Duties

Coordinate with supervisor and incident management systems for your daily appointments
Basic knowledge in implementing and troubleshooting network cable infrastructure to meet the requirements and comply with the designated industry and JISD Technology Standards
Comfortable working at heights over 20 feet, off ladders, lifts, in tight spaces, attic spaces, under buildings and on roofs
Identify firewalls and preform firestopping procedures when required
Install terminate, test low voltage cables such as twisted pair, stranded and solid conductors
Basic understanding with interpreting output and reports from OTDR and cable certifying testers
Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot and repair computer and technology hardware and peripherals
Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, operating system software and local area network connections
Administer, install computer client software for various network applications
Ensure the district inventory system is kept up-to-date
Prioritize work orders to give personnel the best possible customer service
Provide preventative maintenance on existing technology hardware
Utilize Internet connectivity for troubleshooting and technical information access while following the District Acceptable Use Policy
Utilize SCCM (or other) management system to deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot remote systems
Prepare and deliver new technology hardware to campuses in a timely manner
Ability to understand, follow and model the District’s Acceptable Usage Policy
Use computer and software to develop spreadsheets, update databases, and do word processing
Assess verbal computer concerns to provide technical support
Multi-task in a fast-paced office environment, supporting many people at once
Effectively work in a team environment and assist team members as the needs arise
Solve problems and handle situations diplomatically
Adhere to and participate in all JISD and industry quality, safety standards and regulations
Ability to work after hours, weekends and occasional extended hours when necessary
Use effective verbal and written communication skills to provide outstanding customer service
Perform other duties as assigned, based on department needs
Must complete designated district technology proficiencies each year
Requires a basic knowledge of technology/computer skills
Ability to use personal computer to access district programs, emails, and other resources
