This role requires a deep understanding of compliance principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor and interpret regulatory developments, laws, and guidelines relevant to the organization's operations.
- Assess the impact of regulatory changes and recommend necessary actions to maintain compliance.
- Policy Development and Implementation:
- Develop and update compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines based on regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Implement and communicate compliance policies across the organization, ensuring understanding and adherence by all employees.
- Risk Assessment and Management:
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans to address identified compliance risks.
- Training and Awareness:
- Provide training and education to employees on compliance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Foster a culture of compliance awareness and ethical behavior throughout the organization.
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor compliance activities and conduct periodic reviews to assess effectiveness of compliance programs.
- Prepare and distribute compliance reports to management and regulatory authorities as required.
- Investigations and Remediation:
- Investigate compliance issues, incidents, and complaints, and recommend corrective actions and improvements.
- Collaborate with legal counsel and other stakeholders to resolve compliance-related disputes and inquiries.
- Internal Collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, risk management, audit, and operations to ensure comprehensive compliance oversight.
- Provide guidance and support to business units on compliance matters, including new initiatives and projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional - CCEP) may be preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in compliance roles within the financial services industry or a regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, laws, and guidelines applicable to the organization (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SEC regulations).
- Experience in developing and implementing compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and assess compliance implications.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and educate stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in compliance management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
