Position Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and knowledgeable Compliance Specialist to join our team. The Compliance Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring our organization adheres to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards. This role requires a deep understanding of compliance principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Roles And Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance:
Monitor and interpret regulatory developments, laws, and guidelines relevant to the organization's operations.
Assess the impact of regulatory changes and recommend necessary actions to maintain compliance.
Policy Development and Implementation:
Develop and update compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines based on regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Implement and communicate compliance policies across the organization, ensuring understanding and adherence by all employees.
Risk Assessment and Management:
Conduct compliance risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
Develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans to address identified compliance risks.
Training and Awareness:
Provide training and education to employees on compliance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Foster a culture of compliance awareness and ethical behavior throughout the organization.
Monitoring and Reporting:
Monitor compliance activities and conduct periodic reviews to assess effectiveness of compliance programs.
Prepare and distribute compliance reports to management and regulatory authorities as required.
Investigations and Remediation:
Investigate compliance issues, incidents, and complaints, and recommend corrective actions and improvements.
Collaborate with legal counsel and other stakeholders to resolve compliance-related disputes and inquiries.
Internal Collaboration and Support:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, risk management, audit, and operations to ensure comprehensive compliance oversight.
Provide guidance and support to business units on compliance matters, including new initiatives and projects.
Skills And Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional - CCEP) may be preferred.
3-5 years of experience in compliance roles within the financial services industry or a regulated environment.
Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, laws, and guidelines applicable to the organization (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SEC regulations).
Experience in developing and implementing compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and assess compliance implications.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and educate stakeholders at all levels.
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in compliance management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
