Job Summary:
Manages the development, implementation, and enforcement of programs to ensure compliance with
applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Main Responsibilities:
Identifies compliance risks and engages appropriate stakeholders around risk awareness and mitigation in area(s) of focus.
Provides support to ensure actions/outcomes are aligned across all levels of the organization.
Collaborates with internal stakeholders, as well as external resources, to ensure all compliance related matters are appropriately understood and enforced.
Participates in strategic initiative discussions as a compliance subject matter expert; provides guidance and input on new and existing state and federal laws and regulations that may impact strategy.
Oversees and executes the activities that influence the compliance and/or risk programs for area(s) of focus and ensures team alignment with company goals, processes, and values.
Responsible for underwriter relationship management, which includes audits, responses and tracking of mitigation plans.
Facilitates compliance conversations between stakeholders for consistency and education.
Coaches and develops team talent and capabilities, responsible for development of necessary performance plans.
Ensures company-wide regulatory training and education activities are effective and meet regulatory expectations in area(s) of focus.
May represent the organization to regulators, underwriters and other entities in compliance matters.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Travel Requirements - Up to 10%.
Qualifications:
Experience: 7 years’ relevant experience to include leadership
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience (One-year relevant experience is equivalent to one-year college)
Accountability/Complexity:
May manage a team consisting of professionals.
Problems faced may be difficult, or somewhat complex.
Leads, directs, and reviews the work of team members to accomplish operational plans and results within schedule and budget.
Plans and establishes goals and objectives for a team with direct impact on the immediate or short-term operational results of the department
