The Compliance and Quality Assurance Director will promote and hold the organization to high ethical standards and adherence to regulatory matters. Manage, develop, coordinate and support system improvement to promote the highest level of compliance and quality. Direct teams responsible for regulatory and contractual compliance through conducting regular audits in a manner to mitigate enterprise and programmatic risks associated with service delivery and day to day operations while actively driving continuous improvement. Areas of compliance include but are not limited to: regulatory and contractual compliance, data security, workplace safety, facilities, HIPAA and data privacy laws, Minnesota human service program(s) and licensing, and board governance. The Compliance and Quality Assurance Director will work in a hybrid setting with 20% being in our Richfield Office.

How You’ll Be Spending Your Time
Develop, implement, and oversee the organization’s compliance program including but not limited to direct, manage, and monitor Lifeworks Quality, Compliance and Continuous Improvement including scheduling and conducting audits and risk assessments, issuing corrective actions, and recommending improvements.
In collaboration across all supervisors and managers, develop, improve, update, implement, and enforce all company policies and procedures including assurance of proper record-keeping, documentation, and destruction.
Investigate or coordinate investigations by others regarding service complaints, significant incidents, privacy and whistleblower incidents, potential fraud, and others as needed ensuring all regulatory procedures and timelines are followed.
Coordinates all external regulatory inquiries or corrective actions (including program medical payment claw backs) timely with all departments, programs, government agencies, and contractors.
Lead, coordinate, or support external audits to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Enroll and maintain compliance with Minnesota Health Care Programs and Managed Care Organizations.
Research and advise senior and executive management on business operations relating to corporate or program service delivery risks and recommend policy development.
Regularly report to the Board and/or Audit & Investment Committee and management regarding adherence and recommendation of improvements in relation to over-all corporate compliance.
Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside Lifeworks as well as evolving best practices in compliance and quality assurance controls.
Select, supervise, develop, motivate and retain compliance staff. Responsibilities include coaching, career counselling, providing work direction and managing performance.
Develop and manage department’s annual expense budget.
Define great performance for self and seek to continually develop skills to improve performance. Actively seek and share best practices related to compliance utilizing both internal and external networks. Follow safety procedures and assist in identifying safety needs for self and others. Contribute to mission by complying with policies and procedures, using resources wisely and performing other duties as assigned when necessary.

Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree political science, paralegal studies, human services, or business administration and 5 years of related experience. Master’s Degree preferred.
Fluent in English, verbal and written.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Candidate must complete and pass a pre-employment background study, drug screen; and have access to reliable transportation for work purposes
