Compliance Administrator

Are you detail-oriented and passionate about ensuring organizational compliance, along with customer service excellence? We are looking for a Compliance Administrator to join our dedicated Compliance Department. In this role, you will support various compliance activities, handle legal documents, respond to internal and external inquiries, and collaborate on specific projects. This position is vital in helping FedPoint maintain its high standards and adhere to all contractual and regulatory requirements.

Core Responsibilities

  • Review and process legal documents for FLTCIP and BENEFEDS programs, considering overrides where necessary.
  • Handle authorizations for the disclosure of information, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
  • Address internal compliance inquiries and escalate as needed.
  • Prepare PHI requests in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Escalate subpoenas and legal documents for timely review and handling.
  • Conduct research and approve/deny payment requests based on compliance guidelines.
  • Document reports of suspected fraud, escalating high-risk cases appropriately.
  • Field calls to the incident reporting hotline, document findings, and escalate reportable items appropriately.

Support Compliance Projects, As Assigned

  • Assist IT and Information Security with quarterly and biannual validation tasks.
  • Verify enrollees and payees against watchlists and escalate findings.
  • Track and fulfill Clean Desk Checks and TPA licensing requirements.
  • Serve as the FedPoint administrator for the OPM Lookup Tool, managing user access and training.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for compliance processes and assist with staff training.
  • Serve as a liaison to other departments for compliance-related requests and information.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or comparable business experience required. Additional certifications or coursework in business/legal process (e.g., paralegal) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance company setting preferred, preferably in employee benefits compliance role.
  • Experience drafting sensitive business correspondence highly preferred.
  • Must be able to adhere to Hybrid work policy -2 days in-office

Skills And Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of health insurance regulatory requirements, specifically HIPAA.
  • Strong judgment, self-direction, and the ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues discreetly.
  • Strong writing, editing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple functional groups and manage competing priorities.
  • Attention to detail and confidence to question inconsistencies.
