The successful candidate for this role will have a growth mindset and be adept at distilling large, disparate data sets down to easy-to-grasp narratives with clearly-articulated storylines. This means excellent attention to detail but also the ability to write well, recognize trends, think strategically, correctly prioritize workflows and take ownership.


We are based in Seattle, WA. However, this role can be remote.


Please note: Only candidates with a PharmD or PhD in the life sciences will be considered.


Responsibilities

  •  Be able to efficiently develop and demonstrate a thorough understanding of relevant disease states, competitive landscapes, market dynamics and regulatory and commercialization pathways (global)
  •  Conduct market research and/or desk research and derive meaningful insights
  •  Exchange complex medical & scientific information with physicians, scientists and C-suite executives
  •  Triangulate between multiple complex data sources to identify trends, and develop high-confidence, evidence-based assumptions
  •  Distill medical and scientific data into relevant takeaways and actionable reports that are client-ready, and deliver these both internally and to clients
  •  Continuously monitor emerging scientific data to identify impactful events and client knowledge gaps; review scientific journals, attend scientific and key technical meetings
  •  Foster and grow projects by always thinking ahead to the next question
  •  Take ownership in ensuring that projects are run in a “best-in-class” manner (proactive, communicative, efficient)
  • Follow predefined standards to ensure legal and ethical approaches to competitive intelligence collection
  •  Mentor and develop other team members
  •  Think strategically

  • PhD (immunology or related discipline) with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional commercial planning experience, either at a biotech or pharma company or in a previous healthcare-focused consulting capacity
  • Candidates without prior industry experience but with a track record for mastering complex subject matter quickly and excellent writing skills are encouraged to apply

First year salary range is $95K-$115K with the opportunity for a significant upside based on ability to take ownership on current opportunities to grow the business and make it better.


Independent consultants with prior experience working with biotech or pharma who are open to starting at this salary range in a part-time capacity with the intent of transitioning to a full-time senior-level position at a compensation level commensurate to their experience are welcome to apply. In this scenario, starting benefits would be an option and the arrangement would be mutually-defined at the outset.
