Community Outreach Coordinator (Interfaith) : Develop, coordinate and cultivate partnerships with faith leaders in the New York City area and their congregations, to celebrate and embrace the lifesaving power or organ, eye and tissue donation. Foster trust between communities of faith and LiveOnNY; and develop and deliver a community engagement strategy.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as the liaison between LiveOnNY and faith leaders to promote the lifesaving power of organ, eye and tissue donation.

Cultivate new partnerships with faith leaders and strengthen existing relationships to promote the LiveOnNY mission.

Responsible for developing and delivering a community engagement strategy that fosters trust between communities of faith and LiveOnNY.

Survey faith-based groups to identify community needs, barriers to donation, and openness to donation. Use findings to develop opportunities to coordinate programming efforts to better serve communities of faith and be responsive to their needs.

Host and participate in regular interfaith meetings to increase community awareness of organ, eye, and tissue donation.

Identify and develop opportunities for collaborative programs and events with houses of worship, including LiveOnNY initiatives such as National Donate Life Month and National Donor Sabbath.

Collaborate with the LiveOnNY marketing team to identify and develop educational resources that address the needs of faith-based communities.

Participate in community meetings and events organized by faith community partners on

LiveOnNY’s behalf.

Develop activity reports and deliver progress presentations.

Ability to travel within the New York City metro area.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Ideal candidates shall hold a Minimum Bachelor’s. Two- three years of related community organizing and interfaith relationship building experience required.

Experience in healthcare and/or patient navigation a plus.

Experience working with people of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, religious affiliations, sexual orientations, and gender identities strongly preferred.

Demonstrated affiliations with communty-based organizations. Understanding of the economic, social and demographic forces within NYS.

Language Skills

Religious leadership experience preferred.

Ability to effectively present information to faith leaders, public groups, and congregants. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, financial reports, and legal documents, professional journals, or governmental regulations. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients and stakeholders. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure documents. Fluency in a second language a plus.

Salary: $79,081.00- 98,851.00
