Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation (TMPF) is seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator VISTA to play a crucial role in our non-profit organization. This role involves developing volunteer projects, enhancing Healthy Parks, Healthy People initiatives, and fostering partnerships within the Reno, NV area.
About Us
Established in 2012, TMPF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to improving community health and wellness through public engagement, education, and the preservation of parks, open spaces, and trails. We prioritize inclusivity and diversity within our team and strive to create impactful connections with a wide range of individuals.
Responsibilities
Expand Healthy Parks, Healthy People volunteer recruitment and training program
Develop and update volunteer onboarding protocols
Create special volunteer events to promote Healthy Parks, Healthy People
Maintain community partnerships
Enhance volunteer data tracking systems
Coordinate public awareness campaigns for community stewardship
Facilitate volunteer appreciation and retention
Assist in organizing annual Healthy Parks, Healthy People events
Qualifications
Dedication to TMPF's mission
Bachelor's degree or relevant volunteer experience
Strong multitasking abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in organizational tasks
Initiative and commitment to service
Preferred: experience in volunteer management, graphic design, event planning
Proficiency in Spanish language is a plus
AmeriCorps VISTA Program
This position is funded by AmeriCorps VISTA, a national service program focused on poverty alleviation. Alongside monthly training and professional development opportunities, members receive a living allowance, health benefits, and educational awards upon completion of service.
Compensation And Benefits
Living allowance of approx. $17,600
Education award of around $6,000 or post-service stipend
Relocation and travel allowances
Health benefits and child care assistance
Student loan deferment and non-competitive eligibility for government jobs
Flex time, mileage reimbursement, casual dress code, and a vibrant office atmosphere
