DTS is seeking an experienced writer who can work directly with high-level clients to develop written communications to stakeholders and the workforce. Written deliverables can range from official emails, presentation talking points, memorandums, website content, and various marketing collateral. Successful candidates will be able to write and mimic the voice of various leaders, choose correct tone based on audience, and be responsive to changes driven by leadership or circumstances. This candidate should have strong background in journalism, communication, and professional skills which enable them to explain complicated concepts in a simple manner.
The skills needed to excel in this position include excellent communications and interpersonal skills, the ability to adapt as necessary and follow up to ensure communications are completed on time and meet client requirements. The project environment requires someone who is self-motivated, flexible, adaptable, responsive and willing to learn new content and skills.
Responsibilities
Draft and compose written communications to reflect the talking points of high-level leadership within a specified timeframe.
Complete assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, terminology, and accuracy.
Review multiple documents simultaneously, while working both independently and with other writers.
Proofread communication text and recommend revisions or changes in content and format (e.g., font selection, font size and presentation (like bold or italics), spacing, margins, alignment, columns, indentation, and lists).
Identify and correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors.
Ensure executed documents conform to existing templates to maintain consistent look and feel across multiple communication channels.
Create and update templates that meet Government regulations and are easy to utilize and maintain.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English or Literature, Business or related discipline
Minimum 4 years of minimum of related experience
Ability to collaborate with senior management and other team members
Proven experience as a communication journalist
Ability to write in different tones based on audience
Self-motivated, flexible, adaptable, responsive and willing to learn new content and skills
Execute tasks that are time-sensitive while attentive to detail
Excellent writing communications skills and organization skills; accustomed to working as a part of a dynamic project team with shifting work priorities
Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Office tools, Google Drive, and related programs
Exceptional ability to explain complex matters clearly and concisely
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years experience in writing communications on behalf of high-level leaders, emails, memorandums, bios, award nominations, newsletters, etc.
Interest in federal acquisition.

Job Details:
Location: Remote
Compensation: $70,000-$80,000
Salary at DTS is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. In addition, to support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, DTS typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
